Why do you oppose the choice to have an abortion?
We oppose the choice to abort because of the data. Science and technology reveal what takes place at conception through natural birth. Abortion ends the life of a unique human being with their own human genetic code, DNA, and heartbeat. Science tells us that all zygotes, embryos, fetuses, infants, toddlers, teenagers, and elderly are all human. They may be smaller or larger or immature or dependent or sick or athletic, but they are all human. They are at different stages, but all of those stages are human stages. If they are not human zygotes or human fetuses or human teenagers, then what species are they?
Pro-choice advocates have had to abandon science and reason over the last 30 years. They now make the abortion debate about choice and personal liberty. Abortion makes the person’s life a choice based on preference. Any choice that gives one human being the autonomy to determine the life and fate of the other human being is a bad choice.
Additionally, millions of women who have made that choice have psychological problems and regret that last a lifetime. Both sides should not ignore or judge these women, but listen to them. On the other hand, no woman in 34 years has come forward and wished they had aborted their baby.
Why do you oppose Planned Parenthood?
We oppose Planned Parenthood for numerous reasons, but here are some quick facts about this controversial organization. Planned Parenthood brought the first abortion clinic to Bryan/College Station. Planned Parenthood is the leader of the abortion industry. They support abortion at all stages and for any reason, which is drastically opposed to the views of most of the American public. Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion operation in America performing over 264,000 abortions in their last reported year. While the national abortion rate has declined over the last 10 years, Planned Parenthood’s has increased.
Planned Parenthood shapes the dangerous abortion mindset which claims that some people are wanted and some are unwanted. They tell us that we can decide the difference of these two and thus have the power to determine the fate of the unwanted. This mindset has not worked for any society in history and does not build a healthy culture for our community and nation.

What is RU-486 (the abortion pill)?
RU-486 is a series of pills administered in two phases. The first phase kills the baby by blocking a hormone that maintains pregnancies. The second phase induces the baby to pass through the uterus. This type of abortion is known as a chemical abortion and can only be used to end pregnancies that are less than 7 weeks along.
At least seven women have died from RU-486, six of those from visits to Planned Parenthood facilities, and many others have experienced a number of side effects. Common side effects are severe cramping, severe bleeding, heart attack, incomplete abortion, nausea, vomiting, and death.
RU-486 is particularly traumatic to women because they sometimes see their unborn child expelled after it passes through the uterus. For more information, stories, and alternatives visit the RU-486 page.
What's wrong with emergency contraception (Plan B)?
Emergency contraception, known as Plan B in the United States, is a drug used to prevent pregnancy after sexual intercourse has already taken place. One major risk with Plan B is that it can inhibit implantation after fertilization has occurred, thus causing an early abortion. For more information on emergency contraception, please visit the Emergency Contraception page.

Why don't you work at the national level to get laws changed?
Almost everyone agrees the abortion debate is ultimately about changing hearts and minds, not just laws. We do work with many wonderful organizations that are working hard to overturn Roe v. Wade and pass laws that will help reduce abortions on the state level. However, our focus is on the local woman scheduled to have her abortion along with her baby that will be aborted next week in our community. Roe vs. Wade is poorly written; it makes the unborn person property, and has been a disaster for our social and legal system. However, if we only focus on changing a law and ignore the urgency the law created, then we're not doing justice to the victims of that law. We must work to overturn abortion laws and out of love reach out to those who are also the victims of unjust laws. To acknowledge the reality of abortion but not support those who lovingly offer help to women and their babies on the sidewalks is contradictory and weakens the pro-life movement.
