How did you become a volunteer/why are you involved? I’ve always been called to evangelization; I just didn’t realize it until Erin introduced me to the Coalition for Life, Stand and Pray, and 40 Days for Life. I enjoyed being on the debate team in high school, but this was an opportunity to use my God-given talent to engage people for something much more meaningful. I knew that this was something that I could do, and that somebody had to speak for the unborn, so with Erin’s prayers, presence, and support, I became a Sidewalk Counselor.
Why you are pro life (is there a story here?): I lived a life very different from the one I am living now before I made the decision to embrace my Catholic faith and met my wife, and I feel strongly about trying to help others avoid some of the same mistakes I have made. God has a plan for every soul on this earth, and I am assured that He is using my sorrow for the sins of my past life and my joy for my forgiveness to fuel the fire of my love for people just as confused and lost as I was.
Any additional thoughts (comments): Erin is the reason I even got involved at the Coalition in the first place. She helped solidify my faith and supports me in my mission to serve God and the Coalition as a Sidewalk Counselor every time I “go out to the front lines.” I don’t know where I would be today if she hadn’t loved me like she did and still does, but it probably wouldn’t be here.
